I see that many of the Freepers here and on WebSleuths are definitely tuned in and most knowledgable on this matter(and the fact that the tabloids and the MSM latch on to the most inane things and totally miss the important testimony). But as learned as many here are, it all boils down to whether the jury buys Geragos' spin. That is what I am most concerned about. Is the prosecution sealing the deal?

Devil_Anse, you what are your thoughts? Do you think they have made the case so far?

Sealing the deal? I think the tapes are a good start to rehabilitate a case that may or may not have been presented most effectively thus far.
And then we have Geragos trying to shift the focus to bad police work, brown vans, devil-worshipers, Pacific Islanders, crack junkies, homeless OBGYN's who kidnapped Laci for her baby, and then pushed her in their shopping cart to the bay so to frame Scott.....everything but what the circumstantial evidence is showing us.
People want to say that it was just a coincidence that Scott told Amber he "lost" his wife and then all of a sudden she goes "missing." And then, coincidentally, the bodies wash up where he was fishing...90 miles away. One too many coincidences. No one is THAT unlucky in life. Yes the tapes are a good start to refocus where the case really lies. (pun intended)
Hopefully the Prosecution will have their act together when its time to present the very important forensic evidence. They still have to get the the expert testimony about the bodies, and whether Conner was born alive, or via coffin birth.
Lots more to come.

They've stumbled at times. But I really think they've at least impressed the jurors that they can keep their cool. You never hear of the prosecutors going into screaming fits in the courtroom, whereas Geragos does that at least once a week. Actually, Geragos does that every time some evidence comes out that is glaringly damaging to his client, such as the time a police officer testified that during the first evening (of the day she disappeared) at Scott's house, Scott at one point hurled a flashlight to the ground and cursed when cops made some mundane request of him.

It is likely that the jury foreman will be this guy who has both a law degree and a medical degree. He is said to take copious notes. At first it unsettled me that there was such a person on the jury--I mean, who can trust someone who inflicts THAT much school on himself? But now I think this guy is looking pretty convinced, from reports we hear.

There is a summary of the jurors' respective backgrounds at the courttv.com website. The apparent problem juror for the prosecution is a fireman/paramedic, No. 6. (Surprising, since that type is usually pretty level-headed.) This guy sometimes refuses to look at witnesses, and makes facial expressions like he feels displeased.

I really, really think that the prosecution is winning over some or most of these jurors. I hear that they almost all seemed to warm to Amber, even No. 6 (a little bit).

I think it will either be a conviction or a hung jury. Previously, I imagine some jurors may have felt some sympathy for Scott, a clean-cut young man who may have reminded them of a son or grandson. But NOT after hearing him on those tapes.
