August 17, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Stunning new phone tapes from Scott Peterson's slay trial yesterday depicted his miffed mistress demanding to know if he slept with wife Laci the night before she vanished and Peterson insisting he told Laci about their affair after their first date.

No, I missed that one!! That's hilarious!! Oh, but the type of movies Scott likes probably only come on after Juror #5's bedtime!
I don't care what anybody thinks about Amber; she's been a brave soul; for the life of me, I don't see how she wasn't just completely freaked out.
"He is a control freak, plagued by anxiety..."
Agree, and his controlling/obsessive nature gets him in trouble. I'd sure like to know if he experiences anxiety. Is there no anxiety or is it repressed to such an extent that he appears cool as a cucumber?
He really, really, IS scary, and with a capital S!!
I didn't have a clue how scary he is till I heard these tapes.
No, unfortunately, that necklace which Laci always wore was there on the dresser.
So he didn't give it to Amber... but one does wonder why, if she ALWAYS wore it, she was not wearing it when she "went out".
I think nothing arouses "emotion" in Scott as much as the sound of his own words.
Golly bear, I cry everytime they play those clips of Sharon also. Did you ever notice the look on Ron's face as she is speaking those words with such anger/hurt/and passion. He looked to me like he was about to break. But the one visual I CANNOT get out of my head is of Laci's father Dennis, at the same press conference. He attempted to speak first but couldn't and sat down in a chair to the left of Sharon and the podium. He sat there literally weeping so hard that the tears were splashing on the floor in front of his chair as his head was looking down. It was gut wrenching. I cried also. In fact, he and Brent were huddled together at the New years Vigil just weeping. And what was Snott doing? - He was ON THE FRICKIN PHONE with Amber pretending to be in Paris and watching the festivities around the Eiffel Tower. He was grinning like a Cheshire cat, not a care in the world!! The juxtaposition of these two things leaves me without the right words to describe how I felt.
How bizarre is that Jackie? Peterson was in ever increasing financial trouble himself. In fact, he had to PAWN some of Laci's jewelry just to take Amber out on a date.
How I wish that were true. But even Ted Bundy found a lowlife, stupid, moron to marry him and procreate with him--with the willing cooperation of the state, of course.
NOTHING to him". You know "just sex". The more this man speaks, the more he reveals his obsession with Amber
---
Ah, it was just sex. He was obsessed with sex. The viagra, porno and Amber just happened to appear as still willing because she kept talking to him. He was not in love with Amber and he certainly wasn't in love with Laci either.
Early on (2 years ago), I thought that I had heard the Petersons refer to Snott as having a sexual addiction problem. Maybe Grandeos will try to peddle that line.
Wonder how dear sister-in-law Janey would explain the call from "Paris" right as the vigil was about to start?
Would she start humming "Mademoiselle de Pareee"?
He was also more real!
Terrific analysis DA
On Websleuths, they say that Scott made another poster for Laci's search center, in addition to the one he signed "Laci's Husband". This other poster, which Lisa Bloom supposedly held up a copy of on Court TV, had a verse from a Boris Pasternak poem. You guessed it! It was the very same Pasternak poem that he had been reading to Amber, the one with the stuff about "my greatcoat round our shoulders... shelter from the storm... my hands about your waist... I lay my greatcoat on the ground" (implying that the couple can't control themselves and are going to, um, quell their passion on the ground. He used a couple of the less-suggestive stanzas for the search center poster. I'm anything but an expert in psych, but from what I read in the book about psychopaths ("The Mask of Sanity"), this little trick was classic psychopathic behavior: he is secretly making fools of the people at the search center by putting up part of the very same poem he reads from when he gets all sexual with his secret girlfriend on the phone. He is taking something secret and "nasty" and passing it off to them as some really nice, respectful gesture to them and to his missing wife. All the while laughing while they innocently swallow the secret reference to his profane affair
I would like to have seen Gloria go after Ms. Facial contortions that's for sure BUT I still think ALL you guys that get FOX should boycott Greta. She's a shill and she stinks. It would be wonderful to have her lose her show. There are plenty of others that could take over the show and make it successful. Boy that woman irritates me.!!
He couldn't risk ticking her off. She might go back out in the media and start telling the sort of details that we've heard about in the trial! He knew darn well that the Rochas would explode and probably be picketing the police department demanding his immediate arrest.
He's a control freak. He has to keep the lid on all the "fronts". He kept going to the Bay to reassure himself that all was well there. He kept talking to Amber to reassure himself that he still had some influence over her. (Too bad he had already lost that and didn't know it.)
Oh, and of course he still wanted to sleep with her. Any port in a storm.
Omigosh!!! Cornbread face!!!!! I love it!!!
Yes, as long as she doesn't mind the occasional barnyard joke!
"julie - where do you come down on the success of lack thereof, of treating psycho/sociopaths?"
Treatments have little or no impact on antisocials. Part of the problem is that they normally don't seek assistance, therefore, it is difficult to perform studies. I hate to be so pessimistic but it is, indeed, pretty hopeless. Many do get a little better with age, though.
