Whoa - nice choices, actually. I don't know how much driving you do outside of Tennessee, but I wouldn't, for me, consider a car that isn't AWD or 4WD optional anymore. Not big enough to hold kids, anyway. I've had great luck with Jeep Cherokees, both regular and Grand, which you have already as a backup (heckuva "backup!") - that Audi is a screamer if you can find one at the right price. I just drove a new Subaru Forester and it isn't big enough for you and 4 kids, IMHO, but it was a nice enough car. You could almost get into a Hummer used at that price, and it's a truly incredible vehicle, but I found the interior kinda claustrophobic (skinny windows) and even a bit cramped. But it will go absolutely everywhere. Just my $0.02...

all those were AWD except the dream S4 and wagons too.

we get a fair amount of inclemant weather here...nice to have it when you need it.

yep...the Forrester gets raves but it's smallish
