You may be thinking of the Volga which Russia produces (piece of S**t) or the Moskva (bigger piece of s**t).
The big winner though is the Zaparoste (sp.). This one is a humdinger.Ugly as an old sin, they have become collectors items. No longer made, it is the subject of many anecdotes and jokes by Russian and Ukrainian people.

The Aztek is goofy looking, but the Element is just STRANGE! It looks like a cracker box with wheels!!
"The Thing was made when our philosophy was to get back to the earth,..."
I thought the designers' and early users' philosophy was to get back to some Lebensraum, ya know Reich over right.
Thanks mac, now I have to do some web research.
That Chrysler turbine seemed the coolest thing to me. Too bad it didn't work out.

Hey... the bug is sexy. I love my New Beetle and I'm a Flower Power Guy! LOL!!!
Although the recommended fuel was diesel, the Turbine Car would run on ANY flammable liquid. At one point or another, Turbine Cars were run, without adjustments, on unleaded gas, kerosene, jet fuel, home heating oil, peanut oil, tequila and even Chanel No. 5.
Public reaction to the car was very favorable, but the EPA's ever-tightening restrictions on the emissions of piston engines would cause Chrysler to forsake development of the turbine engine in favor of getting the piston engine up to par. Almost all of the gorgeous Turbine Cars were crushed or melted to avoid paying import tariffs on their Italian-built bodies. The new Turbine Car design they were planning for 1966 got a conventional piston engine and became the 1966 Charger Fastback. That's right, the Charger was originally designed as a turbine-powered car!
Maybe we should be looking at this again.
I hate those things with a passion. You think a cop is behind you when its actually a little old lady who can't see over the steering wheel.
My rinky-dink Mazda truck is beautiful. Why? It's paid off!
And a few words in defense of the Bug
-I rebuilt the motor of one of mine on the kitchen table
-Outstanding in the snow
-When the heater boxes were in good shape, I MELTED a pair of PF Flyers by accident
-I floated one across a flooded highway (4 feet of water, BTW). That one had good floorboards
-I got OUTSTANDING mileage and installed a bigger gas tank just to increase the range and keep the front wheels on the pavement when I took it up to 95mph (Dual carb, aftermarket pistons, worked heads...smoked the tires)
-Overall a GREAT car for a 16 year old to learn on - especially the mechanicals.
-I once rolled one over and was able to drive it home after flipping it back onto its wheels MYSELF.
-Yes, I still have one (a ragtop) but it only sees sunny days and starry nights now. Have turned down many offers to sell it...chicks dig it, my girlfriend even threatened to leave if I sold it.

What can anybody carry in that tiny bed, except maybe a tall and very skinny refrigerator or a hound dog?
