There's the link to the article, apparently we can't post articles from The Indpendent directly.
Good news if so.
It won't take votes to remove Chavez, it's going to take tanks.
Like Saddam, the American left love oppressive socialist dictators.
They're not exactly budding Joe Liebermans over there. Their neo-Marxist politics would make Ted Kennedy look right-wing.
Larkspur says: That's (low voting turnout) because we don't have courageous leaders like Hugo Chavez or our political system favors the candidates who will kiss our elites buttes instead of working to make citizens' lives better.
Pastiche423 says: Viva Chavez!
One fellow says that his (upper-middle class) family down there will have to leave the country, so another poster calls his family "ologoplists"
i'll believe it tomorrow (and keep my fingers and toes crossed)
In the short run it will cause a rise in prices, though that has largely already been factored into the price run up of the last two weeks. We in the US (particularly in our MSM) may not have been paying attention to the huge events happening in Venezuela, but believe me, the oil markets have.
And the big question is how will Soros react? Will he make more plays in an unstable market? It's how he made his billions (and destroyed the lives of thousands of pensioners in the process).
They would vote for Chavez for POTUS if they had the chance.
That's great to hear.
There's another quote from the article where a lady says something along the lines of "we don't want to be Cuba".
These are the sorts of things that break the Left's heart.
We all know what their mindset is when it comes to Kerry, but what is their mindset toward Chavez?
Well, Chavez has got to go. His country could, if he truly becomes another Castro, cause all sorts of havoc.
Of course, the real mistake was in the coup of 2002: to this day I can't believe the coup leaders didn't have the good chance to shoot... allow Chavez to "commit suicide" when they captured him.
No way. Even if the price of oil goes up by a little bit, that will only be temporary. The loss of a potential terrorist stronghold is far more important than a blip in the price of oil.
I hope they will be freed from the grip of this socialist thug.
Yep, I went over there and they are unanimous in their support for the murderous bastard. Go figure.
Yeah. One less world leader for John Kerry.
Absolutely true. I just surfed (for the first time in my life) to the DUH site, looking at the Chavez discussion sections.
This is absolute proof that 2004 liberals are actually Marxist totalitarians of the worst sort.
And boy are they well organized in every way.
You're so very right. FFFFFFRRRRRRRREeeeeeeeedom !! !
It won't come to that though, commies don't just walk out of office without some serious weaponry pointed their way.
He won't leave without a fight.
True in every respect. Chavez is of course a big Kerry supporter, along with the IslamoFascists, Castro, and that little schizophrenic dude who is "King" of North Korea.
