Final Olympic Medal Count (Coalition of Willing 527, Commies/Despots 103, Appeasers 271)

Judging from the Olympics, it looks like Bush put together a pretty strong coalition.

I couldn't decide wether Russia should be in the Commies or Appeasers bracket, so I left them in Commie group with China and Cuba.

The Appeasers are France, Germany, and Belgium.

Unknown are Thailand, South Africa, Indonesia, Serbia, and Argentina.

While Russia isn't communist anymore, the Olympics can't be truly enjoyed without remembering the glory days of the Cold War.

Russia isn't commie anymore.....

Put them in the oil-for-bribe/food category

And looking at Russia the past few years, they may be taking baby steps back to the old regieme with some of their alliances!

South Africa should be in the appeasers or Commies since they are both now.

Yesterday, while I was watching some of the taped events, I couldn't help notice that many of the countries supporting us in Iraq were winning medals. The first one was a gold to Italy for yesterday's bike race. Next, a Dutch female in swimming. Then the female Aussies in swimming, not to mention the medals earned by U.S. athletes. It's nice to know my suspicions were correct. Thanks for putting it all together.

Is there any way to update a post? I've seen people revise titles, but have never seen any way to do it. If not, I'll just put out a new thread every day.

You need to ping the Admin Moderator. The quickest way to get their attention is by hitting the abuse button and then explaining what you want changed.

This is a GREAT idea!!! I love it, and it may actually get me interested in the games again!

Great! I will look for it.

Netherlands defeated Russia last night in men's volleyball.

And the French came in dead last in their sculling heat. I was particularly gratified to see them trounced.

....................I think we need a more sensitive olympics. The awarding of medals is detrimental to those young people........ya know?

Perhaps a pass / no-pass olympics?
