A little more than three decades ago, a young man named John O'Neill served his nation aboard a swift boat in Vietnam. Today, the mild-mannered and eloquent attorney from Texas is serving his nation again.
O'Neill and the book UNFIT FOR COMMAND have become the biggest nightmare in the Kerry campaign as the campaign tries to fool Americans into actually making a totally unqualified man the commander in chief.
From James Carvile to Lanny Davis to the rest of the hacks in the liberal media, O'Neill is being pummeled as a stooge of President Bush.
Let the word go forth that week after week after week after week, the DemocRATS have told lie after lie after lie after lie. O'Neill is no Bush stooge. In fact, he has not voted for the Republican candidate for president since 1988. Much to the chagrin of his wife, in 2000, JOHN O'NEILL VOTED FOR AL GORE! (source: Hugh Hewitt interview with O'Neill, 8-14-04)
O'Neill and the rest of the approximately 240 men who served with and around him, have come forward and, in many cases, put their jobs on the line to warn Americans of the phony that is the DemocRATic nominee for the presidency.
Godspeed, John O'Neill. You can count on the FReepers to back you 100% in this effort. Thank you yet again for answering your nation's call.
Hadn't heard that, but I haven't been following things closely.
Gore was as much a pathological liar, serial exaggerator as Kerry is. I just can't believe O'Neil would not recognize the same damning character traits in Gore as he has documented so very well from day one in Kerry.
I think he may be telling a little fib.
Twas the night before Christmas and we were afloat Somewhere in Cambodia in our little boat. While the river was lightened by rockets red glare No one but the President knew we were there.
The crew was all nestled deep down in their bunks, While the Spook and I watched the sampans and junks. Our mission was secret, so secret in fact, No one else would remember it when we got back.
When out on the water there arose such a clatter I leaped down from the bridge to see what was the matter. The incoming friendly was starting to flash And I knew that the ARVNs were having a bash.
The snap of friendly fire on the warm tropic air Convinced me for sure no one knew we were there, On a clandestine mission so secret its true That Im still convinced only Tricky Dick knew.
While I huddled for safety in the tub on the bow, I thought of a title, Apocalypse Now. To give to the films I was I making each day To show all the voters when I made my big play.
As I sat there sweating in my lucky flight jacket, Spook said, Merry Christmas! and tossed me a packet. And what to my wondering eyes did appear, But a new lucky cap, which I still have right here.
I keep it tucked here, in this leather brief case, Just sharing with the press its secretive place As I regale them again with my senate refrain, That Christmas in Cambodia is seared into my brain.
Dont bother to quibble with history my friend, By pointing out Johnson was President then. Dont listen to Swiftees who try to explain, For I tell you that night is seared into my brain.
Down Hibbard, down Lonsdale, and you too ONeill, So you dont remember? Well its something I feel. I dont need all you Swiftvets to support my campaign, Cause Christmas in Cambodia is seared into my brain,
Into my brain, into my brain, into my brain...

Strange Cosmos
Go tell that to his face. You are dead wrong.
in 2000, JOHN O'NEILL VOTED FOR AL GORE!
As Lanny might say, he lies about JFK and he lies about his votes.
My thoughts as well-- just when he seemed so normal and intelligent, he goes and does something like that---vote for Gore?, makes we wonder about his book just a bit--how any vet could vote for the crap the Rats put up for office is way beyond my understanding
bttt
Somehow you think I would not? So what would he do if I did, burp on me or some other equally scary thing? I mean seriously...
HOW ON EARTH COULD O'NEIL NOT SEE THIS?!
I will not say anymore more on this subject, but it is a serious flaw in O'Neil character and judgment of people.
Lanny Davis lies for a living. You watched him perform like a monkey on a string for Clinton. O'Neill and many other good people unfortunately made a mistake by voting for Gore. One was my brother. After 9-11, he said that he made a big mistake and thank God Dubya was the president. Even some normal people voted for Gore because they actually believe he could have done the best job. Let's see you attack the content of O'Neill's meassage if you can.
A flaw in his character is nonsensical. We vote the way we do for many reasons. Our opponents cannot believe we are crazy enough to vote for Dubya. Read the book and attack the arguments if you like. Don't join the RAT bastards by attacking the messenger.
Who is Chrysterical Matthews to interrogate John O'Neill on his voting record? It was none of Matthews' business, and should have no bearing on what JO is saying now.
Doug, you have a serious flaw in your character and we cannot believe a thing you say because you once voted for Jimmy Carter. Why are you here? Get off of FR now!
Doesn't exactly back up his case for "good sense."
this is big. Of course, I wouldn't think more of him if he voted Bush, but, it shows he's he's not an ideologue if he's telling the truth about his vote.
It shouldn't matter who he voted for or whether he is democrat or republican. That is just a democrat trick to discredit someone they don't like.
So then 89 percent of the media can't be trusted either because according to polls that is the percentage that vote for democrats.
Or is it just if you are republican that you lie.
What a twist.
Point out a democrat that has not lied latey.
Or those that support liars like Kerry or clinton.
Very clever of the dems to discredit you if you question their lies.
Then the press magnifies anything approaching republican mistruths and ignore blatant democrat lies.
His credibility is enhanced because he is not working for Karl Rove or any other partisan. He and the vets are doing this out of loyalty to the country. Come on, folks. Listen to the message and help advance it.
It enhances his credibilty that he is not doing this on behalf of Bush. He is doing it on behalf of the American people.
Down boy. It was just a (slightly) sarcastic comment. I think we FReepers are all smart enough to figure out that this is a point in his favor, Doug.
List any and all reasons that a "normal" person would have used to vote for Gore, and I'll point to a character flaw. Period.
Some examples:
o) Believed Gore was a better leader - Serious inability to discern a person's ability or character.
o) Gore promised more government largess or entitlements. - Greed, covetousness, laziness, etc.
