It was a real mistake to start naming hurricanes after men. Ever since, all the bad storms have guy's names. They just smash into the coastline and don't care what's in their way.
The female hurricanes tend to be less powerful and have a tendency to stay out over water a few days while they make up their minds where to make landfall. They're more unpredictable but do less damage.
