I don't know how many people are like me but I don't pay much attention to GDP numbers.. Maybe I should but I just go by, if I've got a job and am able to pay my bills. How well I'm doing depends on how much I have left over after I do so:') I don't know of anyone around me that talks about this stuff. However when the media tells them things are bad they believe it, if democrats.

Most people are like you (to use your own words). The GDP is absolutely huge. For instance, the $87 billion is about 3% of GDP. Who cares?

We are the richest nation on the planet. Our poor are fat and have their own cars and cable tv.

BINGO CindyDawg. I thought I must be the only person who thinks like that. When the gas prices were at the highest, I didn't see less vehicles on the Houston loops which told me we weren't as bad off as the media tells us. It was costing me all of $2.40 more to fill up my tank. (but hey, I whimpered about it just like everyone else) :o)
