It's an economy of scale thing. Of all the military and pseudo-military spending around the globe, what percentage of it in total is an American expenditure? Especially now that the Soviet Union is nyett.

It's like America is Sam Walton's Walmart and the entire EU is Woolworth's. We have an enormous economy of scale in military spending. The EU does not.
