Not to let the spoiled university lefties of California off the hook...
but the "we can shut down OUR street" mentality of university students seem
to be widespread.
I've encountered it in even in conservative havens like Stillwater, OK
(home of Oklahoma State University...the last place President Nixon,
and later, VP Quayle could get a friendly audience.)

That is the truth. I am a student at CMU and moved here just last year - I can't believe pedestrians in this city...
