I'll bet Bill Clinton is somewhere thinking, "Damn, why couldn't that hurricane have hit while I was president?"

Oh it won't take long before the left jumps on board..

"Bush is politicizing a natural disaster!! He's turning the death of poor people in trailer parks into a political poker chip."

CNN just said "This President usually doesn't go to disaster areas. With an election only 79 days away, one must wonder is politics are involved".

I want them to make this argument because they will lose very badly.

The problem is, if the left does do that they will run the risk of marginalizing themselves among voters.

Of course it won't stop the leftist media from saying it.

Where are the "Hurricane Charley Widows Organization" at?? They should be protesting Bush's visit loudly.

The whining has already started. 'Why is it taking so long'. The drumbeat will become deafening if Bush isn't seen as compassionate, caring and acting.

The media will shred W with the 'not doing anything' label unless he is seen to take charge.

To the media, perception is reality. And if the media can generate a negative perception of W, you can bet your bottom dollar they will. The partisan media will find the pictures, set the stage and then ... Kerry is just waiting for the signal to start the attacks.

The hurricane was funded by Texas fat cats with strong ties to Karl Rove.

They blame him because he didn't do anything for 7 minutes after he found out about Sept. 11. Now he is being ripped for coming to Florida to check out the damage. You can't win with these people, therefore, ignore them and do what your heart and your political advisers tell you, Mr. President.
After allit is that it is a political year and we must win.

But truly does anybody really think that President Bush is going to visit Florida just for political reasons. That man has more heart than many people I know.

What Bush ought to do is go to Florida clandestinely, without making a big media deal of it. Then when the critics pounce with the expected "Bush is Insensitive" nonsense, he can reveal that he was there.

I'm sure Disney World is having a gay old time today.

He should go and let everyone in the country know he was there.

Screw the media. If the liberals are going to use this occasion to attack President Bush then let them do it. They are going to lose very badly.

I distinctly remember Bush 41 getting trounced in 92 for not visiting FL after that hurricane. Now they'll trounce 43 for visiting. No matter what he does they'll gripe. What else is new?

I'll bet Bill Clinton is somewhere thinking, "Damn, why couldn't that hurricane have hit while I was president?"

Andrew hit Florida in early September 1992 which was just two months prior to the presidential election. The national press used the aftermath to clobber President Bush (41) and make him look out of touch.

I'll bet the poor dead people will still vote for Kerry.
And I'm sure Edwards will be channeling them by Monday.
