I will simply NEVER understand why a (sex-based) affirmative-action hire like Dowd gets so much attention here on FR. I watched her on TV a couple of weeks ago (with token NYT Republican Bill Saffire) and was thoroughly unimpressed. (Does she wear no makeup because she doesn't think she needs it?) Dowd was no more clever or witty or intelligent than a thousand other female columnists, and she is not even close to being in a league with Ann Coulter or Peggy Noonan, among others.
Does the Old Gray Whore employ Dowd for peanuts or something? They can't afford better?

Ah yes. Good point about the money. Some people will do anything for the right amount of money.
And they are AMAZED by someone like Bill Clinton who appears to have a memory for facts. Imagine that....anyone with a brain is actually a novelty to them! LOL. Most only know how to move their mouths, sans intellect to drive it. Ah, yes! Hang on to those talking points! LOL.
Laura Bush IS nice, quiet, classy and does read extensively, including Dostoevsky and much more. Lots of people own cats! So WHAT!!
