I bet before this thing is over, we're going to find out that Rassman didn't just magically appear in Iowa. I don't remember anyone questioning that it was Rassman's idea to go there, unsolicited by the campaign.

I'm vague on this, but I seem to remember Kerry was totally surprised when Rassman came up to him in Iowa, (cameras rolling).

I wonder if Kerry's campaign asked Rassman to go there, with Kerry not knowing about it - aimed at maximum effect.

I think you are right. the first article I read about Rassman seeing Kerry for the first time in Iowa, he told the reporter that he had called Kerry years earlier but his phone calls were never returned. When he called this time, they got right back to him! I guess they didn't need to use him before, some brother!

The whole thing stinks and I don't believe any of them, I believe they are all covering for each other and heck, free travel, a paycheck and your face on TV all the time.... not bad for losers. Possibly some were VVAW members with Kerry, where are all those guys? He spent more time with them than anybody he knew from his brief tour. They are his true band of brothers, how many are standing behind him now?

Does anyone know if a member list of VVAW can be obtained anywhere?
