guess all those times similar strength hurricanes moving up the east coast, creating significant swells and storm surge on the NE shores, must have been Hollywood special effects. ;) Yeah, in SC, NC and Long Island. The Jersey Shore is oriented North/South and rarely gets a direct hit - instead, it tends to get dumped on by remnants (Floyd comes to mind).
