Okay, please don't flame me. I'm honestly interested in what freepers think about this.
Ever since Rush came back from rehab and started talking about "living a lie" and "not being able to make other people happy" and all that, I've had the uneasy feeling that Rush had "discovered" something more about himself than he was letting on.
Today, listening to Rush as he talked about his empathy for McGreevy, it seemed inevitable to wonder if Rush's empathy (and, please, if you did not hear Rush's comments, realize it's difficult to assess the tone and emotion with which he delivered them) wasn't tied back to his own "living a lie" struggles.
Yes, it would be easy to think that the "lie" was his drug addiction, but . . . I'm posting this because it really seemed as though Rush might be warming up to his own bombshell (whatever that might be).
His commentary was so passionate, in a personal, not political way, that I even wondered if he was (unconsciously) seeing if he could start a thread like this, in order to see what the speculation might be and what the reaction to that speculation might be.
Who heard Rush's opening commentary on McGreevy and what was your reaction/thoughts? Thanks. I'd be interested to know.
Rush, I had different advice for Clinton at the time. He should have said NOTHING. He should have taken the 5th at the Jones depo and dared them to put the sitting President in jail for contempt. If he had just said that he will not comment on those issues, it would have been far better than lying and he could have kept a shred of dignity.
You guys are killing me.
Nothing is wrong with RUSH. this is the typical reaction some of the fringe freepers have.
Here is the link to the CNN clip Rush just ran with Clownville/Lanny Duffus and O'Neil
Carvell/O'Neil link has the transcript posted from CNN...here it is.

Rush is definitley setting up Kerry.
This is what I believe too. I've done something stupid before but was in denial. It was not major by some's standards, but it still bothers me to this day at how stupid I was. Rush is still beating himself up about it.
He admits that he is leading a double life. I have seen a tall, cigar-smoking woman with hairy arms and pink purse and matching golf shoes in the shops in Palm Beach. I'm just saying.
I could kick myself for not seeing this show.
Complete meltdown by Carville & Lanny. Wellstone reminiscent in the effect this display would have had on a larger audience.
I didn't see it, just been reading about it. I could NOT believe what I was hearing. Vile. O'Neill must be exhausted... which is why he needs our prayers and encouragement all the more!!
You are correct, Rush is just pulling everybody's chain, I think its a big joke to him.
There's a thread around here somewhere on it.
Are Freepers taking to eating their own, now??
I understood what Limbaugh was saying, very clearly.
In essence he said he felt sympathy for McGreevey, on a personal basis, because coming out because this was tough and was only the first step in straightening out his life.
I feel the same way for McGreevey, and I see him frequently due to my job.
If McGreevey wants to deal with being a homo and wants to turn his life around, this was the first step. (It's likely at this point he wants to remain gay, but whatever)
Sheezsh! Some Freepers are getting hostile even at their own brothers in thought.
Hmmmm! Let's see, Rush's Big Confession, the secret he has been keeping from all of his DETRACTORS: Rush Limbaugh is...yes... it's true...he's... HUMAN! Cuddlier, fuzzier, just plain better! Love that guy!
I think it safe to say, we probably have Rush's ear right now. The content of this thread is impressive.
You don't think there is anything different in the way Rush is expressing himself today?
Something is happening, because we all basically recognize that his demeanor is different today. He did imply that a year ago his attitude would have been different about this McGreevey tryster.
Rush has lied and will never admit that his back problems did not cause his addiction, he still golfs.
His hearing loss was not caused by an auto-imune disease, it is one of the side effects of oxycotten addiction.
Who remembers when Rush came out in support of Bill Clinton's re-election. It was a hoot.
Maybe he is giving us a chance to "call in" via the internet.
