Strange twist to Frey tapes

Gloria Allred and law partner Nathan Goldberg flank Amber Frey as they leave San Mateo County Superior Court in Redwood City after Thursday's session in the Scott Peterson murder trial. Jurors heard another day of the tapes Frey made of phone calls with Peterson after his wife's disappearance.

REDWOOD CITY -- Scott Peterson, apparently crying at times, repeatedly denied involvement in his pregnant wife's disappearance while admitting to his girlfriend in secretly taped calls that he lied about being married. Peterson, in four recordings played Thursday at his double-murder trial, acknowledged a series of lies, but refused to answer Amber Frey's most pressing questions, including how he would have explained the birth of a son and why he told Frey he had "lost" his wife weeks before she disappeared.
"This has to be the biggest coincidence I have ever heard of," Frey said in a Jan. 6, 2003, call. "I mean, are you psychic? I mean you predicted your wife would be missing?"
"No," Peterson replied, without elaborating.
The Modesto man justified his reticence by dismissing such talk as "not the right thing to do" or saying he had to protect ....

FRIGHTENED BY HIS OWN BRAZEN LIES
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. The Ice man sweateth.
For the first time in his courtroom experience, Scott Peterson (news - web sites) lost his easy swagger. The color drained from the smooth sociopath's face. His jaw, normally locked in a strenuous smirk, suddenly opened wide, as if he were attempting to yawn or howl. He chewed his cheek. He jerked around in his seat. He seemed to vibrate.
Only one thing seemed capable of scaring this man, who's treated his double-murder trial like a social distraction.
He scared himself.
He scared me, too.
The prosecutor clicked on a tape recorder, and there was Scott Peterson, in the raw.....

Jurors hear tape of mistress blasting Scott Peterson for lying to her
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. After weeks of swallowing Scott Peterson's lies, Amber Frey angrily lashed out at her deceitful lover, telling him in tape-recorded phone calls that she suspected he was involved in his pregnant wife's disappearance.
In the calls played Thursday at his double-murder trial, the mistress confronted Peterson about a conversation they had weeks before his wife, Laci, vanished in which the fertilizer salesman said he had "lost" his spouse recently and would be spending his first holiday without her.
He reported the 27-year-old mother-to-be missing on Dec. 24, 2002.
"Are you psychic? I mean you predicted your wife would be missing," an indignant Frey shouted during one of three Jan. 6, 2003, calls played for jurors. "This is the biggest coincidence ever!"...
PINGING......
PINGING......
PINGING......
PINGING......
Everyone has been trying to analyze why Scott would continue to romance this woman so strenuously, after already having achieved his goal of crawling into her bed. Or I should say, "slithering into her bed." The story that he he genuinely loved her never made any sense. Scott has never loved anyone or anything except himself.
Yesterday, while listening to some of these on CTV, I had the most chilling thought. He wasn't going to get much money from Laci's death; I don't think he killed her and the baby she carried for the money. I think he killed them for the freedom. But Amber, on the other hand, and possibly her little daughter too, might have been in some real danger if Scott had gotten away with the the Laci and Conner murders.
My guess: if he HAD gotten away with it, he'd have married Amber pronto, and immediately taken out some large life insurance policies on one or both. After some time passed, I would bet you, they'd have had an "unfortunate accident" that would have made him a rich man.
Then, this sociopath/psychopath would have had the money to finance the high-flying lifestyle he's always wanted. I think the guy was/is a budding serial killer.
ROFL.... errie.... Full moon... dark, danky, and errie...
We agree. Just was talking about that very thing last night. On NG there was two idiotic defense lawyers. One said that Laci's baby wasn't Snotts and the other was a friend of Gagmeoss. They both said that Snott never admitted he killed Laci to Amber on the tapes. Well, DUHHHH. He aint that stoopit! THey also said that he never told her not to go to the police. However, at the end of the sentence where he tells her to do what she wants, he says they will question you". I believe he was trying to scare her into thinking that the police might think she was involved.
ya know, every now and then, I keep thinking of that other college student, (her name escapes me), and even though they have another person of interest, I can't help wonder if this is not Scott's 1st murder. Just a weird thought, since he was being sooo clever in Laci and Conner lives.
wasn't that SF attorney such a blowfart? Gads, Horowitz! (Don't confuse him with David Horowitz of Front Page Mag)... What creepy lawyers are out there! Almost pure Clintonites!

We were thinking the same thing. Especially since he is so calm about what's happening to him now. If he was me and I was innocent, I would be scared to death. Not sitting in the court room looking like I was getting an award.
LOL I thought it was so funny too when NG told Horowitz that he was "this" close to slander and that Allred could sue him (when he said that Conner wasn't snotts)
Gawd, that point sounds like it came straight from Geragos (and you bet it did), and it reminds me so strongly of something... something I've heard before...
"I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky, and I never told anyone to lie, not ever".
I heard him say that, not once but several times, even after NG tried to muffle him! Even after it was pointed out that DNA showed Conner to be Scott's child! After that, I turned to something else--these "discussion" shows are terrible lately, showing the same old arguments peppered with a few smarmy new ones, such as that one.
I think I remember something about that, from way back--and even back then (and this was long before we got to hear these tapes) some folks wondered about that.
He tried to con his girlfriend and thought he would get away with it. Turns out the truth sucked him into that sinkhole you can't claw your way out of. Peterson is a cinch to get the death penalty.
This guy was trying to fly with eagles while feeding the sparrows.
I told hubby different verbage on those morons on the TV... ;o)
Yeah, LOL He also didn't tell her to GO to the police either.
