Oh yee of little faith.

This cessation of offensive actions is to give cover to the deployment of Iraqi forces to press the attack into the final "holy" sites.

Maybe, maybe not. On Hammorai's Iraqi blog there are suggestions that the ING has been deserting to Sadr in droves. I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is, then the suspension, along with the negotiations, has very different, and very very serious negative implications for our side, and for the whole Iraqi enterprise.

Iraqi forces? The ones who run away or the other ones who switch sides and kill our forces? "Deployment of Iraqi forces" - it would be funny if it wasn't so disastrously tragic and self destructive. We are our own worst enemy.

Poor baby!

It also allows for the movement of our own forces and supplies. The Major in charge of the marines on the ground said this AM on Fox that our troops in position to prevent the bad guys from leaving, and if they do they know what will happen to them.

We need time to bring up the lights and loudspeakers, so we can play Rock-and_roll 24/7 for the next 6-8 days. this way they get no sleep, no sleep = good for us, bad for them.
