Terrorist who committed attack was a member of the PA "Police" Preventative Security Forces (Ynet).
One of shot Israelis has died of his injuries. Yesha Council in respose to murder has said (Arutz 7):
"The terror attack at Itamar is another proof that the IDF was right and Sharon was wrong," Yesha council spokeman said in response to the terror attack whereas one resident of Itamar was murdered. "The disengagement plan is blowing up in our faces, the fact the terrorist was a Palestinian security officer proves we should not give them weapons as well," it was said.
There was only one Israeli murdered. No other injured.
Ping.
Shlomo Miller, at the age of 50 and a father of 7, was the Israeli murdered today by terrorists. He was the security orginizer for the Jewish community. This terror attack in Itamar is not the first. In June 2002 five Israelis were murdered, among them a mother and her three children.
MK Gilad Erdan from the Likud: "This terrorist attack needs to be a stop sign for the security appartus and the Israeli government that is deliberating on giving guns to Palestinian policeman, so that in the future the public will not say about the Likud that "you gave them guns (a slogan used today to describe the Labor government doing the same during the Oslo years)."
MK Zvi Hendel (who lives in a Gazan community slated for expulsion) from the National Union said in sarcasm: "I congratulate the government for allowing Palestinian policeman to carry arms. The terrorist attack in Itamar proves that this government is a normal, mentally fit and responsible one that safeguards the security of its citizens. If it weren't that sad, crazy and maddening it would have been funny."
Arutz Sheva reports:
Shlomo came to Israel 7 years ago from South Africa. He was, as said, the Security Organizer for the community. He replaced the former organizer who himself was murdered in a terror attack at the community two years ago.
