O'Reilly wants to examine things unemotionally. Alright. From a Vet's eye view Kerry doesn't know what action is. His 4 months is a joke. Everyone else served 13 and 14 month tours. That point sticks in the craw of every vet who did a full tour. A friend was shot, hospitalized and sent back to his unit in the field where he was shot a second time. He was a grunt. Two well deserved purple hearts and a little less lung capasity, but he made it home. Kerry's scratches do not deserve a purple heart, which is why he had to put in for them himself. Also this business about him returning to the scene of prior action and filming it for future use rubs vets the wrong way. I can just imagine some of the men who really saw action asking their CO if they can have time off to go back a film their last action.
No, he was a privilidged SOB while he was over there and he has been a privilidged SOB ever since. He didn't give a damn about what his country was trying to accomplish and he didn't give a damn about the reputations of the men over there who were doing the real fighting. He is an elitist, effete, do as I say not as I do, snob.
Is that good enough for you Mr. O'Reilly?
