I don't understand how getting mcgreevey out now helps to get a GOP Governor. As I recall the Senate President Pro Tem becomes acting Governor and last year the State Senate went Dem.

Because there would be a special election now if he left now. By staying 'till November, McGreevey allows the Dems to hold Jersey until '06.
