Seeing Kit Bond in that photo reminded me........A couple days ago I received a snail mail letter from Senator Bond's office.

snip,

Senator(my name, address, continues on Dear Senator(my last name),

Thank you for contacting me regarding the United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. I appreciate your taking the time to share your concerns on the issue.

Memogate,being the issue, I assume.

In other words a form letter explaining the Senate Select Intelligence Committee's work. blah, blah

Still, it's nice to know my Senator is staying in touch with his constituents.

Kind of puzzling though when he addressed me as Senator. As his friend and colleague Joe Biden would tell me soon enough," That's above your pay grade."

Another troubling thing about this letter (besides being addressed as Senator BARLF )I had not written Senator Bond in years about anything. I tried that back during the Clinton years, never ever received a response from the Senator. Figured no use to keep wasting postage.

Now, in 2004 I get a very nice letter from the Senator in response to a letter I never wrote.

Strange.

Oh, now that I have been promoted from housewife to Senator do you think I can claim Senator benefits? That would be nice.

I am a little concerned at being addressed as Senator. After all, Senator Bond is on the Intelligence Committee.

*sigh*
