No I have not had that problem, the only thing I find undesirable, is god awful bang. Then you have to remember it is a 357 necked down. But I love mine. I shot a skunk one time and didn't even have to skin it, the hide was hollow when I picked it up/ One hell of a gun. It is the usual story of S/W they made a gun and people liked it so they quit making it. Just like 220 Swift everyone yelling about shooting out the barrel. Well I have been shooting one for 20 years, and it is still a tack driver, but I never load it to the max.

I didn't think about the noise... I find .22 Mags out of my Mod 48 to be more annoying than .38's or .45's.
As far as the "problem" it may be one of those things that get going around and is finally accepted as gospel although it was mentioned in a 1965 Shooting book I have by Col. Cooper.
