That's right. I have actually read this play, which can be found in major chain bookstores along with other plays by noted playwrights.

It starts with a sanctimonious disclaimer recited by the actors in the play essentially saying, 'He belongs to us just as much as he does to you. If you are offended, so be it.'

Corpus Christi was written by Terrence McNally, who also co-wrote Earth Girls Are Easy with Julie Brown, as well as many Broadway plays and musicals, including a musical adaptation of Bush-hating novelist E.L. Doctorow's celebration of domestic terrorism, Ragtime. This wouldn't be notable except for the fact that I had a friendly encounter with one of the lovely and talented actresses in that show. And no, I'm not telling.
