I just tried to buy the book "UNFIT TO COMMAND" at the local BORDERS Book Store and they told me they were not scheduled to receive it until the END of November!!! When told it was released Yesterday, they said good luck trying to find it. WELL, ONE MORE ORDER FOR AMAZON!!Looks like a stonewall in the bookstores too.

His Navy records are on his Kerry-Edwards website, I looked at them, although medical records are not available...I am former Navy and my medical records are not available either, because they don't accompany your regular record to the Navy Personnel Records.
If all of his Navy records are there I don't know...but most appear to be.

The man who fell off the boat would have heard all the shooting from the other boats and would have believed that their group was under attack. From his perception, Kerry would have been very brave to have returned to the firefight to retrieve him. It would certainly be more charitable for him to think that Kerry had acted quickly to save his boat and then acted bravely to save him, than to believe that the only reason he landed in the water in the first place was that Kerry panicked.

That's exactly the way I have been explaining this to people, and, given the evidence, seems to be the truth.

I haven't read through all of the replies. But I do want to say that I admire these Swift Boat vets. They showed courage by going to war in the first place (I know, we're supposed to think that Kerry is the only courageous one who ever went. We can't trash him, but we can trash the others), and they're showing courage again by standing up for what they believe.

I do tend to believe them - I hope to get the book soon, so I'll have a more definite opinion. But what I really like is that they brought this all out months before the election, and Kerry has more than enough time to respond. He can release his records (Bush had to release all of his, so why not?), and he can bring witnesses, have debates, or whatever.

Kerry is the one who based his campaign on his 4 months in Nam, so that is what we have to judge him by.
