Ok, but his new story makes his Senate speech look pretty bizarre:

I remember what is was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khme Rouge and Cambodians, and have the President [elect] of the United States telling the American people [ the truth that ] that I was not there; The troops were not in Cambodia…[and of course he was telling the truth. For some bizarre reason ] I have that memory which is seared--seared--in me....

It is obvious that he lied but when he made the statements as a senator he was not under oath. However, when he testified to the Congress as a young man he was under oath. I don't know if he mentioned this incident in that testimony but it would be interesting if he did.
