I had adopted a squad of the 3rd ACR while they were in Iraq. That is something I kept telling them over and over and over. When they came home, they said it was the thing that moved them most of all.

I was there tonight. The Madhouse on McDowell really did live up to its name. The crowd was huge and very very loud. I think that we showed how much we appreciate him.

I was there - it was insane. I was right up by the front and got some excellent photos. I'll be posting them shortly!
I heard it was the largest crowd ever at the stadium. 17,000 is what they said.

Bush 04 Campaign Rally in Phoenix AZ, 8/11/04
Lone Kerry protester out front... Almost felt bad for her. Almost.
The place was PACKED!
Congressman JD Hayworth
Congressman Jeff Flake
The crowd goes wild!
THIS was really cool!
Heh heh heh....
Hi!
Bush, Sen. Kyl, Sen. McCain
The man!
Another foot closer and I could have shook his hand! Had to settle for this photo.
Full gallery is located at http://www.hangmyhat.net/bush081104/ Please don't link these elsewhere or I'll have to move them - I don't have unlimited bandwith, after all!

I am so glad this is posted on Free Republic! We can always count on FR (It's better than the news media at covering important events.)
I wondered if you could tell how loud we were cheering. My friends and I yelled and whistled until we were hoarse.

Just as an aside, notice the difference between J.D. tonight and this pic taken during the count-count-recount protests in 2000.
He's trimmed up quite a bit.

I wondered if you could tell how loud we were cheering. Absolutely. I hadn't heard the Madhouse on McDowell rock like that since the 1976 NBA Finals. I was half expecting to hear Al McCoy scream "It's a Wham Bam Slam!!!"
To: uglybiker
Hayworth looks great.
If you know, uglybiker, was that photo taken on the Saturday that the USSC ruled to stop the counting? Just curious because I was done there protesting that day.

Bull Puckey -- they even had the ABC Sports reporter cut to the Kerry rally instead of covering the training camps -- it was the Phoenix News stations that tried to say Kerry had 100,000 people in Flagstaff.... ohhhhhh yes, they covered Kerry BIG TIME and then they followed him to the Grand Canyon and on to Kingman!
To: uglybiker
Anal-retentive correction: Just curious because I was done down there protesting that day.

That's Dittomom in the red shirt right behind J.D. in the picture.
There was a few of us there that day.

There was a few of us there that day. So it was that day. Wow, what a memory. Dittomom was something to behold, a helluva motivator. You wouldn't remember me, but I do recall you. Never forget that day as long as I live. It was the one and only time I've met other Freepers face to face. Gonna have to change that.
