I've said it before and I'll say it again, this whole "Christmas in Cambodia" fantasy started because Kerry was most likely fascinated by the movie, Apocalypse Now.

Could be. I don't watch movies much and didn't think of this. Instead, I thought that the "Cambodian Incursion" was so central to the liberal view of the war that Kerry couldn't resist imagining himself into it.

This sounds like it would be too good to be true, but has anyone ever heard of Kerry claiming he was mixed up in the Tet Offensive?

Look at the timeline of Kerry's fantasy claims. His claims about spending Christmas in Cambodia didn't start until AFTER Apocalypse Now was released. As icing on the cake, Kerry also claimed he ferried an intelligence agent into Cambodia.... Shades of Captain Willard!
