SEATTLE (AP) Doug Gardner, son of former two-term Democratic Gov. Booth Gardner, is headed to New York later this month as a state alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention.Shades of Ron Reagan, the Seattle-based son of the late President Reagan, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention in July.

Gardner says that while stem-cell research is an important issue, it's not the main reason he's going.
"I just needed to let people know that I didn't agree with the liberal policies that (my father) now embraces," said Gardner, 42. "I love Dad, and I'm with him as much as possible. I just wanted to let people know that I didn't stand with him on policy."
Like many Republicans, Gardner describes himself as a fiscal conservative with a social conscience. He has volunteered in Africa and works with the homeless in Tacoma.
He believes abortion and embryonic stem-cell research should be banned, although he does not object to research using non-embryonic cells.

Nice sleazy way for the AP to imply that some pro-lifers object to research with adult stem cells.

Given the amount of MSM media coverage it's gotten, I'd be surprised if many people even know about the existence of adult stem-cell research.
Good catch. Yep...it's all part of the liberal mainstream media agenda of distorting the pro-life message.
