This may sound silly, but is Disney World ever shut down by hurricanes? We're supposed to go in a couple of weeks :).

Thanks.

Not usually, unless it's severe.

Many of the rides close when it storms though - mostly the outside ones. Have a fun trip - take some time to see real Florida, too.

Disney shut down the day that Hurricane Floyd was supposed to make a direct hit on Central FL. It turned at the last minute, but that was a very scary time. It was the only time in 25 years here in the Orlando area that we have actually boarded up all our windows.

In 1995, Hurricane Erin shut down the Magic Kingdom. It was the ONLY time it ever happened.

Missus and I were working there at the time. She had the day off from the park, but I had to go in to the hotel and handle the guests.
