What foundations did Mr. Heinz create and/or fund? Just wondering.

I think you're right. She doesn't need this, she has the loot to buy her privacy and is maybe realising she will lose this privacy and her independence if (hopefully a gigantic if) he wins. Couple that with the pressure and stress of campaign travel, rallies etc, it must be a horrible shock and who could blame her for wanting to say the hell with it, I want to go home !

The huge difference between GWB and Kerry is that GWB believes in serving his country with the support of his beautiful wife, and Kerry only dreamed of the power and the glory...and his wife's bankroll.

I really do feel sorry for that poor woman, THK. She married out of loneliness, even down to marrying a senator whose first name was John, same as her departed spouse, also a senator named John.

She really loved and still loves John Heinz, that's obvious from statements she still makes.

She still wears the sapphire engagement ring from her first husband. There was even a quote from her, something like, John Heinz had the good manners to introduce her to John Kerry, the day before he [JH] died.

I try to put myself in her shoes. I also have been vulnerable through grief. It's a bad time to make decisions. Although I might personally object to what she does with her money through the various foundations, she is above all else a woman, one who was obviously well taken care of and loved by her late husband, the father of her children, whom she will never replace in her heart.
I also wonder how much influence JFK has had on her philanthropy? What might her eldest son, as a Buddhist feel about where the money goes? Socialist support - means support for islamists - who have beheaded Buddhist priests in Thailand. John Jnr would know this.
I think her strange behaviour is the result of an inner struggle and at her age (60+) she will not 'go the distance' - She'll go home 'for health reasons'. IMO.
This is a time for sympathy. Why? Because I'm above all else, devious.
The more we are critical of them as a pair, the more they will have enemies in common. Divide and conquer!
Teraysa, we love you, we feel sorry for you. Leave him!

Your tearful, self-portrait of Ms Heinz-Kerry is truly heartwarming. I also feel a sense of sympathy for her self-indulgence. Poor Teraysa.....$$$$$$ Poor, poor Teraysa...

You must have missed the operative word...'devious'.

There are times when sympathy can be quite destructive. Think how she might feel if she believed we all felt truly, seriously, honestly SORRY for her.

If she trusted him, there wouldn't have been any prenuptials...

That's the bottom line.

I believe her ties with extreme leftist groups, such as the Tides Foundation, show that she has committed to their causes. John Kerry is now pandering to middle of the road voters - not anywhere near the positions/causes into which she has heavily invested money. This must grate on her.

In the pictures, she does look as if she is abusing substances. She also looks like she does not appreciate being on the campaign trail or the photo opportunity attempts at affection her husband is giving her.

She is probably used to a great deal of attention and "fawning over" due to her wealth. On the campaign, he is the focus, not Teresa. Did you see the picture where he is walking next to the crowds with her, Edwards and his wife. Everyone is broadly smiling but Teresa. In fact, she rarely smiles in the pictures.

Um, I am NOT trying to defend sKerry but guitarists have long right-hand nails, and short left-hand ones. I'm sure if we could see a picture of sKerry's left hand, this would be borne out.

Now as to his guitar picking? I haven't a clue but he does pride himself on being able to strum the dang thing.

I now return you to the hysterical subject of this thread - separate rooms for the cozy couple who are probably spending more time together than they have in the 9 years they've been married.

Am I the only one who remembers an interview with Te-RAY-za where she said that she was dying, waiting for John to ask her to marry her?

Clearly this woman loves this idiot.

She probably has a lot of coping mechanisms to handle his lies. I'm sure this isn't the first time she's heard negative things against her second husband, but I doubt that she's willing to accept them.

When/if she breaks through her denial, and actually decides to believe the Swift Boat Vets, then and maybe only then, will she think about dumping this gigilo.

That was a really nice, big-hearted post. I agree - you won't catch me saying awful things about Teresa, either.

She clearly loved Sen. Heinz and misses him greatly, even to this day. I feel sorry for her. I think that she got sucked in and manipulated by a gold-digging gigolo.

Obviously, I don't want her to become First Lady, but I also have no hate for her.

The pctures I've seen of her, staring off into space, disassociated from whatever John-boy is doing, leaning out the window of the bus, etc., really made me wonder if she's zoning out on substance abuse of some sort.

At times, she seems so disconnected - in a way that can only be helped along with alcohol or pills.

I wonder why she gave in to John's pressure after telling him for so many years that she wouldn't support a run for President? And her belovoed first husband? She is also reported to have told him "No way" as well - and she really, really loved/loves HIM.

She most likely is having buyer's remorse at this point.

And after 9 years of marriage, I'm sure that they are spending more time together in the same bus/motel/hotel whatever, than they ever have before. She has been quoted as saying that she didn't know John very well - after 9 years of marriage. I don't think she stays in the Georgetown townhome mansion when Congress is in session - so they are apart a lot of the time. Many marriages depend on these long separations to survive. "Distance makes the heart grow fonder" and all that.

Plus she is used to being waited on hand-and-foot. This bus tour thing must be difficult for someone used to living such a privileged life and having the ability for anonymity at any point they want. There is no anonymity on the campaign trail. She may be close to a breakdown before November rolls around.
