I think the point is, it wasn't ok for Saddam to torture people. Thats one of the reasons we invaded Iraq. Having said that, Iraqi's are not Australians or Americans. To them torture is a law enforcement tool. It was when Saddam was in charge, and it apparently remains so. Perhaps we were naive to think they would begin to act civilized once Saddam was gone?
