"Reporters should have left the country and reported it back in the early '90's. Just like they should report it now."
There were some reports of it, but your credibility takes a hit if you report on a country from outside of that country. It isn't realistically possible to report on things like torture from outside the country. You can say it but unless you have pictures, etc. no one is going to believe you. Add to that the difficulty of getting people to talk about torture when doing so could get them tortured and killed, and you see the problem.
Strange that you think it would be easy to get information on torture in Iraq while Saddam was still in power? That is the last thing he would want reported.
Now of course it is much easier. Reporters don't even have to worry about the Iraqi authorities picking them up for stories they print, much less getting tortured and murdered for it.
You said; "I think you're using the john kerry moral compass."
I am not the one trying to prove anything. You are trying to prove some sort of Vast Media Conspiracy to not report on tortures and abuses during Saddam's rule. I am simply pointing out that that makes about as much sense as Hillary's Vast Right-wing Conspiracy.
If you want to believe it, go ahead, but most people are going to laugh at you.

You are trying to prove some sort of Vast Media Conspiracy to not report on tortures and abuses during Saddam's rule. No. I'm merely stating that it's so.
