To speak out against the Swiftboat Vets. This ought to be a Barf-O-Rama.
I'm not sure about that. Moore has free range to do and say as he pleases. If the SBV get the same freedom to make their points, that's a good thing. I think Newt is inwardly pleased that there is a counter-Moore finally out there and the administration can keep its distance. It isn't as much marginalizing them - no way can you expect Bush or those deemed close to the party like Newt to embrace the SBV - as it is giving them an equivalent status to Moore. I think it is a good counter to the attempted suppression of the SBV.
Bill:
While interviewing Jim Rassman on your show tonight, you stated that John Kerry misspoke about his being in Cambodia on Christmas in 1968. Just like he misspoke when he said he wasn't at the November '71 VVAW meeting in Kansas City, Missouri, where the assassination of U.S. Senators was discussed? When confronted with FBI surveillance records from that time, the Kerry campaign backpedalled on their initial claim, and admitted that Kerry had indeed been there. You can say he misspoke Bill. But in my book, that's downright lying. How many passes are you going to give him?
I concur that it was a mistake to equate SBVT with M Mooron
Did anyone email O'Reilly after last night's fiasco? Name and town, name and town, name and town if you wish to opine.
I emailed Ailes and told him that I thought O'reilly was campaigning for Kerry...and that I refuse to watch him any more. Got no response.
I am equally astounded. Rassmann claims to have been in special ops as an officer in the 5th Special Forces. Being down in the IV Corps region would have likely put him in an organization called Command and Control South (CCS). I was in CCN at the very same time. If any Freeper was in CCS at that time, you should know Rassmann. It boggles the mind that any officer in that unit would or could stomach Kerry's post-service activities.
I can see what excuse is formulating about Kerry's alleged "Christmas in Cambodia", it is going to be that he just thought he was in Cambodia. What kind of a skipper of a ship does not know where he is?
O'Reilly is getting weaker and weaker. He has Baldwin on, and could have layed the hammer to him, but let him off. O'Reilly is a victim of his own success. His program has started its descent.
That was a pretty bad comment from Newt. Ugh. I hope this is not how this is going to play out.
O Niell is up on Hannity
The Swift Vets are decorated warriors that have given sworn testimony about the veracity of their documentation concerning the Senator. They are not equivalent to a hateful cowardly propagandist.
The RNC should separate itself. I've urged that from the start as it isn't their fight. It doesn't mean these veterans need to be equated to Moore.
Newt was wrong to make this comparison.
O'Reilly is teasing everyone:)
Good Lord, If he is special ops. guy, then Kerry didn't save his life. Special Operation guys do know how to swim, and this is a good part of their training. Now this thing really stinks.
Doesn't mean anything. My mom was a registered democrat because in 92 she voted in the dem primary for president to try and beat Klinton.
Rassman voted for Klinton if I heard correctly.
That's for sure.
Rassman is a retired L.A. County Sheriff. He's been retired for 10 years. Was L.A. County Democrat controlled then and is it now? He now lives in Oregon.
I wish we could start a thread on O'Neill's appearance on Hannity... tv challenged tonight.
Sot on post.
In any event O-butthead is fubar for me.
The sooner the better he's gone.
Bring on somebody a bit less full of shite.
Start one.
Rassman has actually said that he wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for John Kerry. I find that very hard to believe since there were other boats in the area, and at least one other of the Swifties has stated that he was on his way to pick Rassman up out of the water, when he saw Kerry's boat (which had initially taken off) had returned.
I disagree. He can say he meant to say he was near Cambodia......but he cannot explain away the Nixon was president remark. It is unspinnable.
