Bush & Kerry to be in Portland at the same time, Kerry will also go to Jackson County (of all places) and it's said he'll make a "media only" (not sure how that's supposed to make people want to vote for him) appearance here in Eugene. Or maybe he plans to just wave from the caboose as he passes through those places - may as well in Jackson County where he'll never win, or Eugene where his throng of supporters would line up on their knees at his command, but will vote for him no matter what because they hate Bush for reasons altogether unclear even to themselves.
I'd like to know where and when he'll be in Eugene so I don't stumble upon the event on accident, I don't think my stomach could handle a direct view of his carcass.

Very Nice layout indeed, Mr. Silverback!!!!:-)
#28. Very nice shot of S.E.5a's of number 85 squadron, RFC circa late 1917 into 1918. The lowest one in the painting is of assigned American Ace, Elliot White Springs, 19 victories.
#22. The 498th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, The "Geiger Tigers" adopted the Red White and Blue with Stars as their last Squadron markings as they were then operating At Hamilton Field, California(having moved from Gieger Field, Washington). The 498th at that point transformed into the 84th F.I.S. keeping those colors throughout the rest of their history and moved early on to Castle A.F.B., California and maintaining a small detachment(Alert)at George A.F.B., Southern California. The painting depicts either a late 498th or 84th F.I.S. F-106A intercepting a Soviet TU-142 "Bear" reconnaisance aircraft over Alaska during either a "White Shoes" or "College Shoes"(depending on time frame) deployment to Alaska to augment the 317th F.I.S. F-102s' based at Elmendorf and it's associated satellite Air Defense Alert fields in the Alaskan Wilderness.

#1. Nice Photograph of then Lieutenant George W. Bush getting ready to board an F-102A(most likely of the 111th F.I.S., 147th F.I.G., TX-ANG). The photograph immediately below shows a scramble in progress, F-106A's of the 95th F.I.S.(Mr. Bones), the photograph most likely taken at their then home(dictated by the marking variation of the F-106A in the right hand part of the photo), Dover A.F.B., Delaware(previously operating out of Andrews A.F.B..(Photo looks like 1972 vintage).

#2. Nice painting of an F-106A of the 159th F.I.S., 125th F.I.G., based at Jacksonville with a Det. at Homestead intercepting a Soviet TU-142 "Bear" recon aircraft off the Florida Coast. A scene very very often repeated during the "Cold War".

F-106A's of the 171st F.I.S., 191st F.I.G., Michigan A.N.G.
AM ping was for historical information purposes.

:-)
My post #34 was for the photo in post #6.
FReegards,

Also #28. Just remembering who the markings are of the nearest S.E.5a in the photograph, Famed Royal Flying Corps Ace Billie Bishop, 72 victories!!!!:-)
An additional note regarding the photograph of the 95th F.I.S. F-106As' in your post #1.:
If the photo is 1972 vintage, which I suspect it truly is, That's less than a year and a half from which they returned from their "College Cadence" deployment to the R.O.K.(South Korea), in part of our response to North Korea siezing the U.S.S. Pueblo, the "Pueblo Incident", which saw a large buildup of U.S. Forces in the region(1968).

Correction 3 and a half years.
Thanks for the ping!
