We aren't catching them all, and that is the problem.

For every one we catch there are 100 that don't get caught.

According to the airline's website, there ARE no flights from Minneapolis to "her homeland" of Syria. All such travel involves a transfer in Amsterdam.

That reminds me of a joke I like... It says

When I die, I want to go like my grandfather...in his sleep.....not like the other people in his car....screaming.

I hadn't heard that joke in years.
Too bad we can't shorten it into a bumper sticker against Kerry.

>>>" A Louisiana woman of Syrian descent "

She was a little more than "of Syrian descent."

"Abbas is a Syrian national with permanent resident status in the United States, the U.S. attorney's office said."

She was a Syrian national with permission to reside here in the U.S.

The phrase "of Syrian descent" could mean her great-great-grandmother was from Syria. That was not the case at all.

I'm against the confiscation of cash leaving the U.S... and of all confiscation shake downs. But this case is a difficult one as she could be funding terrorism. More than likely she was just taking hard earned money home.

I think she should be released back to Syria with her money, and her permanent resident visa revoked. And, she can take her family with her.

Confiscation... no. Repatriation... si.

Hoppy

I doubt she is a terrorist. More likely she (or her husband, family) is A STINKING TAX CHEAT. Y' all have no idea how many immigrants and Muslim immigrants are in cash businesses where they grossly under report and cheat the IRS. Cash businesses such as taxi, limousine, service station, restaurant, convenience store etc etc.

It's illegal to carry $24,000 from Minneapolis to New Orleans?
