How long before the INS releases the guy upon his promise to appear at the deportation hearing currently scheduled for February 11, 2009?

Bah, no big deal. Don't you know the terror alerts are a political ploy?

Turn him loose only after bugging his car, residence, phone/s, and tail him 24/7. It would be best that his arrest was not disclosed or in the news.
he just wanted to vote in the NC GOP primary..
We also have a large cigarette smuggling operation funding Hezbullah (i know, its spelled wrong).
This isn't breaking - he was arrested on July 20. Had an article in today's Austin American Statesman...
He's entered the country illegally and made wire transfers of over $100,000 to his wife in the last few weeks.
I'm kind of surprised. Most of these cases are just blown off by authorities when they're reported. I hope this means a change of policy!
sounding like a TET offensive..
Do they know how he got in yet?

sorry,,,came over the radio as loud, breaking news,,,,Charlotte Police Chief giving special reports..
What many people don't realize is that the banking center for the country is in Charlotte. They think Wall Street is the center. I've always worried about Charlotte because of all the banks, not to mention the nuclear power plant, Lowes, IBM, all the trucking/shipping.
Man with terrorist ties arrested in Charlotte, sources say
Investigative sources tell 6NEWS that they believe a 35-year-old man from Pakistan who was living in Charlotte has terrorist ties.
Kamran Akhtar made a court appearance at the federal courthouse in Charlotte Tuesday morning, but there was no mention of any terrorist ties during that time.
Akhtar is being held on minor immigration violations. Akhtar is a Pakistani national. According to the complaint against him, he used an alias to get into this country.
While in court Akhtar asked for a court appointed attorney, but he had to admit that in the last month he has moved over $100,000 in cash to his wife and children. Upon hearing that, the magistrate denied his request for an attorney.
Akhtar is from Pakistan. It is not known at this time how long he has lived in Mecklenburg County, but he apparently lived in an apartment in Charlotte.
There has been a series of arrests in New York of Pakistani nationals. It is not clear if this case is connected to those cases, but more information is expected to be released during a news conference at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department at 11:45 a.m.
