The program about nuclear terrorism was really interesting and informative. I think they got some research from Paul William's book. They mentioned there are around 80 soviet suitcase bombs unaccounted for.
The advise basically was that if you are inside the fallout zone (60km) then leave if possible. Take note of the wind direction so you don't drive into the fallout. If there's a chance you could get caught in traffic, better to stay at home and build a shelter. You need to stay inside for up to fourteen days. They demonstrated how to seal your home, choose a room to build your shelter in and how to preserve a safe water supply. It is also important to have a radio so you can tune in to advice and further instructions about when it is safe to leave.
