You see, Clinton repeatly claimed the very mild early 1990s recession was the "worst economy in the last 50 years." He was elected despite that lie. This along with Clinton not being removed from office after lying in Federal Court testimony, led the Dims to conclude that lying is legit public policy discourse. [Clinton also lied in agreements with Congress on legislation.]
This is maybe the most unforgivable sin of Clinton. He made lying, not embellishing, not putting yourself in the best possible light, not spinning, but out right lying part of public discourse in the US. It has been picked up by other Dims and they think it is the key to winning elections. They do not understand that Clinton one with his charisma despite lying and they do not have the same charisma. Maybe a few more years of not controlling any part of the government will convince the Dims they must return to honesty.
Nice idea if it were true---seems to me that about half of the country believes lying is acceptable since they support the "great liars" of our time (Kerry and Clinton)---seems I also read something about it being ok to 'cheat on tests' in our schools of higher education as well, so am afraid "truth" is not what it used to be--
They never had honesty. If they did they would never get elected to anything.
"Maybe a few more years of not controlling any part of the government will convince the Dims they must return to honesty."
Fat chance, the Democrats are now the defacto Communist party USA and should change their name accordingly. They will never again be interested in the truth. People tell the truth because they believe in the truth for the sake of truth, no habitual liar ever turns to the truth because someone has convinced him that it works better than a lie. Only a genuine, life changing, religious conversion cold reform a hardcore liar.
