Most people under 45 know very little about the Vietnam war. It will be difficult to get them interested. The media and our education system have portrayed our involvement in much the same way as Kerry did in 1971.
That's for sure. But they do know about hypocrisy. The younger they are, the more radioactive an issue it is, and Kerry has been outed as an utter hypocrite. Running on his military credentials, and there he was in black and white, betraying and besmirching his comrades in arms.
Incidentally, remember the rude awakening Howard Dean got in Iowa? When all his youthful, vocal, generous supporters failed to turn out and vote for him? "Huh? Vote? Dude, that was today?" If they couldn't bestir themselves for Dean, will they get out and vote for John Kerry?
Kerry is alienating people on more levels than Al Gore ever dreamed of. Tonight, Nightline did the expected hit piece, but it also showed another ugly side of the many-ugly-faceted John Kerry.
