I agree. The Dems are making a big mistake if they think they can discredit him by saying he didn't treat Kerry just because he didn't sign the treatment sheet. He was the only doctor on the base and I bet he can prove he was there on Dec 3, 1968.

I will have to dispute the issue of being the only doctor on the base. Cam Rahn Bay was a large installation with a fully equiped hospital(I had the pleasure of being hospitalized there for two days and assigned there for 9 months, Feb-Nov 71). It was a medivac point for the whole area. Only guessing, but I'd estimate that there were at least 25-30 doctors assigned there, maybe more. I'm not taking up for John F'n by any means, but I did want to set the record straight about being the only dr on the base. There was also a navy detachment on Cam Rahn, and they likely had a dispensery. It's quite possible that Letson saw him there. One final point; Had the wound been of any significance, he would have been sent to the Air Force hospital for treatment.
I firmly believe that F'n did not warrant receiving ANY PH's for his wounds and hope he chokes on his lies concerning them.

I heard Letson being interviewed and he said he was the only doctor on the base. You could be right about the dispensary or a small navy support facility near by. According to Kerry's treatment sheet, it was stampled U.S. NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY CAM RANH BAY RVN.

While the concentration at Cam Ranh Bay of Market Time headquarters and forces during the summer of 1967, the demand for base support became extraordinary. Accordingly, the Naval Support Activity Saigon, Detachment Cam Ranh Bay, was redesignated the Naval Support Facility, Cam Ranh Bay, a more autonomous and self sufficient status.

I was stationed in Danang in I Corps, which was run by the Navy/Marines. I have no idea who was in charge of Cam Rhan Bay. It was a major port facility, but was it under Army or Air Force control?
