But if the Navy knew he was incompetent why in heaven's name award him a Bronze and Silver Star??

All I know is that if we had a *uckup in the bush, we choppered his arse back to the rear. And we sure as hell didn't give them any medals.

In fact they were lucky if they weren't demoted if not court-martialed!!!

Jim Rassmann, now part of the Kerry presidential campaign, was a Special Forces lieutenant spending a few days with Kerry when he fell or was knocked off the swift boat while under fire and was fished out of the Mekong River by the future candidate.
