A woman was killed while canoeing the Brule river in NW Wisconsin. She was struck by a falling poplar tree which had been gnawed thru by a beaver.
"A 20-year-old student died..."
He was a big hit on campus.
"He left a note saying he was aiming to hit a tour boat so he would take people with him. A thoroughly evil man."
That is truly strange and evil.
Don't you remember how college students act?
Maybe the jumper was commemorating the anniversary of "Fat Man" being dropped on Nagasaki.
I have a rule of thumb for movies: If it has Meryl Streep, it's bound to contain some kind of "important" preachy message, so I avoid it. I have another rule of thumb: If a writer or artist committed suicide, that negates everything they said or did before. Virginia Woolfe's choices were unfortunate, and her stories are baleful and depressing. I don't need that.
I must remember your Meryl Streep rule...jotting that down now.... ;-D Great advice.
