Had John Kerry not strutted out at his biggest moment to date, saluted and said he was reporting for duty I might agree.

Kerry wants the GOP to take him on on his military service. He's begging for it.

That's why we should not do it.

So do you figure the Kerry camp's threatening letter to radio and television stations is part of a grand strategy? We are all guessing what, if any, net impact it will have, but after seeing Susan Estrich with Hannity last week, I don't believe the Dems want to go where the Swift Boat Vets are taking them. You know that she is close to some in the Kerry campaign and her talking points essentially consisted of saying that the vets weren't on Kerry's boat. She ended with a somber, I wish you wouldn't do this.

Terry McAuliffe is on record saying that they would go after Bush's Viet Nam dodge. There is no doubt that the Dems, in fact I've heard them already, will say that they will put Kerry's Viet Nam record up against Bush's any day of the week. But they are losing control of the issue on those terms. While the general public might not much care who was in Viet Nam and who wasn't they are more likely to care if one has falsely advertised their heroism.
