-The Prince of Tides- Bush ads, Kerry ads, the Tides Foundation, and so much more--
among other things, it is a federal offense to release anyone's credit information (Fair Credit Reporting Act). Similarly, the HIPPA forbids dissemination of medical or psychiatric records without the written consent of the subject. No wonder the DNC is so carefully tracking to whom their "Brown (shirt) Books" are being distributed.
I'm not a lawyer, but I did stay at a Holiday Express last night ;) Maybe FReep lawyers could give more info.
You are so right. They should make an ad using that. He clearly lied about his record on the Senate Floor in the Congressional record.
Kerry and his goons can't get out of that lie. It brings all of Kerry's claims about his record into question.
That Cambodia lie and the fact he only served four months really redound to the Swifties advantage-- it nukes Kerry's credibility. The he went Purple Heart hunting to get out of Nam way early" charge is helped by Kerry's lack of injuries, unwillingness to releasse his med records, and the fact that he did bug out after 4 months.
The "he lied about what happened in Nam" charge is helped immensely by his obvious lie about Cambodia.
We need a new ad (with the Cambodia smoking gun), and it needs wide distribution.
They took the bait.
You're right-- this could backfire on them spectacularly!!!!!
Attacks on the Swift Boat Vets will backfire on the Rats.
Perhaps if Rush would stop just talking about it but urge his listeners to donate, we would make a difference.
The Rats suck. This is so LOW!!!
My hate for Kerry and the Left generally just tripled.
What SOBs!!!
Bastards.
I hope this backfires on them big time.
Rich GOPers should be donating huge amounts of dought to these brave men. The rats are playing for keeps, are we??
Lehane and Shrum..
DEmocrats are really worried ,as they should be, tyo be going to this level
Given a proper public airing, it nukes Kerry's campaign in one shot.
I was disgusted by the cavalier manner with which this was dismissed by Brit Hume, among others who claim to be interested in the truth. It reminded me of the Clinton impeachment whitewash. The accused was dead to rights, but everyone stuck their fingers in their ears because of the supposed ramifications.
Honestly, it would be disservice to honest Democrats to have a candidate lined up who is persoally damaged. I would rather see a race decided on the ideological merits. But when the personal negatives are covered up from day one, or simply ignored, such is the risk they took.
If Hillary Clinton does have sympathetic hands on the levers of media power, the Kerry campaign is now hers for destroying whenever she chooses.
As more specific details of this story emerge, and these vets defend themselves, it could get real ugly for Kerry.
So far this looks like the most disgraceful media coverup I've ever witnessed.
Lehane is a vile POS. I wish Steve Gardner could get five minutes with Lehane.
Lehane is the type of guy I would love to see a burly old Vet like Gardner rip to pieces.
We need to send this off to some folks to check out.
Some of this info would be illegal to release, so I somewhat question this report. If true, some folks at the Kerry campaign would have to be imprisoned for this.

This is the same old dem MO and I'm sure the Swift Boat Vets expected it. As far as I know, none of them are running for President of the United States; consequently, making dem accusations irrelevant.
Yup, if these people were trashing Bush, they'd be on Time magazine hailed as whistleblowers.
This Big Media cover up is such a betrayal of the AMerican people.
This will surely BACKFIRE!
Yes, the more I'm thinking about it, the harder it is to believe.
Without question, the DNC even having possession of personal credit histories, medical histories and psychiatric histories are all federal offenses.
Actually, it helps Kerry, which is why the DNC is putting this "assault" on the Swiftvets together. They need to do something to keep this going; on its own, it would be dead by Tuesday.
I know I'm going against the grain here, but Bush is staying as far away from this as he can for a very good reason: it will backfire, big time, if he says anything about these guys.
As more specific details of this story emerge, and these vets defend themselves, it could get real ugly for Kerry.
Actually, Vietnam works only positively for Kerry, just as the war on terror works only positively for Bush.
There is so much else to nail Kerry on; don't put all your hopes on this Swiftvets issue. It is bound to fail.
