Max Sandlin is now my congress critter. I have to laugh at his ads on tv - he does not say he is a dim - implies he is independent, but uses "a strong America" as part of his ad.

The label of Democrat doesn't buy much in East Texas it seems. In fact, Rep. Max Sandlin-D refused to attend the convention in Boston. I love this quote from Sandlin:

“I wanted to spend time here working with East Texans on jobs, health care and education and prescription drugs rather than a nice party in Boston”.

I'm sure that his absence from the convention had nothing to do with the fact that any association with the most liberal ticket for Pres/VP in DemocRAT history would be the political kiss of death for him.

I had not seen/heard that quote.

There are still plenty of yellow dog dims around here - mostly older people. I saw my first sKerry sticker yesterday - it was in the window of the car, not on the bumper - it was just placed in the back window, not attached. It was an older couple. I am sure they noticed ALL of my attached Bush/Cheney stickers (I have 5-both driver/passenger windows, rear windows, back window - don't want anyone to doubt my intentions).
