Why, Dreamland has the best BBQ ribs in the world. The Dreamland in Tuscaloosa, AL, on Jug Factor Rd, that is. I have not had the privilege to sample ribs in many of the places that have been mentioned on this thread. However, I have heard Keith Jackson of ABC Sports state time and again that Dreamland is the best! Mmmmmmm-mmmmmmmm.

Hecky's in Evanston, Illinois, is pretty darn good.
And besides the bbq, they make yummy peach cobbler and sweet potato pie.
JP, have you been here? I still miss Hecky's!
link
From the link:
"Sharing honors for great ribs over in Evanston is Hecky's Ribs , a shack of a place on the corner of Greenbay and Golf that consistently infuses the city with the soulful scent of hickory smoke and warm molasses. Hecky's has a more expansive menu than Carson's including the Northwestern students favorite, rib tips, which are the less expensive, but no less delicious, end pieces from the baby backs. They satisfy a ribs hankering without the expensive tariff. Also on the menu at Hecky's are cornbread, red beans and rice, chicken, slaw and truly fantastic fried shrimp served in a sack like french fries."

Best in the land. No particular favorite ... it's all good. I usually go for the brisket.

Cooper's BBQ in Llano, TX is the best by far. Their pork loin, sirloin, and brisket are awesome.
For ribs, it's hard to beat Luling City Market in Luling, TX.
My BBQ is better than most, and so is my sauce.

Although Washington state is NOT known for it's BBQ, I nominate the Longhorn Bar-B-Que in Spokane.
Back in 1955, the Lenhertz brothers of Houston, TX brought the idea of real pit BBQ to Spokane. It's one of the most popular eateries in Spokane. A few years ago, they opened up a western Washington branch in Auburn, and they're a regular at both the Spokane Interstate Fair and the Western Washington (Puyallup) Fair.
A funny story: back in the early 70's, the Loghorn started selling it's sauce at the restaurant. Since it's near the airport, a number of flight crews liked to eat there. A flight attendant bought a couple small jugs of the sauce to take home with her...to Phoenix.
She arrived in Phoenix, put the sauce jugs in the back seat of her Cadillac (with a cream-colored leather interior), and went shopping. She went into the store and left her car with the windows rolled up.
In 110-degree heat.
For a half-hour.
Guess what happened?
She returned to her car to find the exploded remains of BOTH jugs coating the interior of her Caddy. When she returned to Spokane, she explained what happened to the owners at the Longhorn. They paid for the re-upholstering of her car, plus two new jugs of sauce and instructions NOT to leave them in a hot car next time.

Pierce's Pit BBQ (Tennessee style) off of route 60 near Toano, VA. (Williamsburg is a suburb of Toano). Never had any BBQ before or since as good.
