Sad, they can't understand we the listeners/viewers make the choice for what we want to see or hear..CNN doesn't seem to be able to deliver anymore. Even Microsoft wants rid of MSNBC ..gone will be the "M". Competition is healthy. They have to understand we have the freedom of choice.
Talk radio(the underground news source) was the only way the average Joe or Jane could have a voice. When our government and all our elected officials (for the people by the people)start listening, then we wouldn't rely on talk radio, the net and related sources to express our viewpoints and concerns.
And where's the other viewpoint of this story...on FR, that's where.

"but said they were grazers who didn't stay long. "

CNN has been falling like a rock for some time,,,I cannot stand Judy Woodruff as one example. Had to laugh, about a year ago walked into the living room, my husband was "fuming" he said "Call for Satellite connection" if I have to look at CNN one more day for news I will explode.....he has not watched CNN since...

"Parsons said he did not feel CNN was liberal, but instead has a bias for the truth."
A perfect example of truth - and an immediate disqualifyer . . .

Still nostalgic for communism after all these years of being beaten in the ratings because that's the way they are.
Desperately, they are at the stage where any totalitarianism will do, no matter how barbaric, no matter how heinous, no matter how backward. Anything that will harm America and its founding principles.

his news operation "does not give a corporate slant to its journalism. We don't tell them how to report."
How quickly he forgot that just a year ago CNN admitted their corporation deliberately required their staff to suppress the negative information about Saddam and human rights abuses in Iraq.
CNN not only has a political bias, it sacrifices human blood and lives for ratings.

LOL! Listening to CNN try to make excuses for their poor ratings is like listening to an alcoholic deny they have a real problem. Until CNN address their bias issue the ratings will never change.
Remember when CNN said they were losing because their screen format was boring, and not flashy like FOXNEWS? They changed their screen format to be just like Foxnews, and their ratings are still low. Do you think these arrogant liberals will every realize that it is their bias that does not sell?

With one correction, what he said makes perfect sense:
"He conceded that journalists are often perceived as liberal because they tend to challenge conservatism."
Or perhaps:
"He conceded that journalists are often perceived as liberal because they tend to challenge the conservative part of the establishment."

Pay attention not only to what is being reported but HOW its being reported kerry is no friend to FOX and i would venture to say FOX is no friend to KerryEven before the President of News Corp was announced as backing Kerry, I have noticed a distinct slant towards Kerry reporting on Fox. Say what you like but they are changing and it isn't for the better.

If you think CNN's media pandering is lame, read these silly promos for a couple of Air Amerika's talk shows:
After a decade of tearing up the airwaves, this Brooklyn native comes home to New York as one of the most powerful voices in talk radio. Listed in Talkers Magazine Heavy 100, Randi Rhodes brings her own brand of impeccably researched and infectiously humorous talk to Air America Radio.
"Infectiously humorous talk?" This must be what they mean by bio terrorism.
Or how about this gem?
Time to wake up, brush your teeth and stick it to The Man. Set your alarm to Morning Sedition and keep us on as you make your way to that charmingly decorated cubicle where you help rich people increase the disparity between their bank account and yours. Well give you the days headlines and political news, without that annoying, smiley, blow-dried double-talk the other media use to avoid offending anyone who might jeopardize their access to Sweet Lady Ad Revenues. Join radio veteran Mark Riley and comedian Marc Maron for morning news served up the way you like it: In context, with a healthy dollop of absurdity on top and a side order of subversion.
Totally childish and stupid to boot. Most left wingers I know tell me that they haven't changed their politics since they were 18 years old. It definitely shows as demonstrated by the above samples of truly sophomoric promo copy. Air Amerika is programming designed for a UC Berkeley college radio station in the late 1960s. Most of this radio "talent" will probably drift back to NPR (National Partisan Radio) or at least until PBS and its progeny goes (gasp!) commercial by 2006.

As for Fox, they are pretty worthless these days. Just commie lite.
I was disappointed that Limbaugh never got a show, as was rumored, on Fox from his pal Roger Ailes. It's painful to watch Alan Colmes on Fox Channel and to listen to him on Fox radio.

The Fox these gas bags need to take 'a shot' at is the one S.O.B. ....SOB (South of the Border)
Amen, brother. My relatives in Mexico despise the SOB and his $1000 bed sheets. Just another corrupt Latin American demi-despot running the show down there.

"This statement means that CNN cannot find a way to beat FOX News. Desperation from the LEFT is pretty to see."
Just give CNN a few months...FOX is forgetting who made them number one...The same marketing guy that promoted the "NEW" Coke-A-Cola is now working for FOX!

Talk radio is truth in packaging. You know what you are getting. With CNN and the other alphabet "news" (sic) organizations, you get gross misrepresentation as to their "journalistic integrity."

They also have corporate employees called "Assignment Editors" that shape the news agenda and the "angle" that they will use in their news packages.

He conceded that journalists are often perceived as liberal because they tend to challenge the establishment. Challenge the establishment?? Only if the 'establishment' has a Republican president. When there's a democRAT in, they lick his boots.
I would have described it as a different part of the anatomy being licked (or kissed as it were).

Since when has reporting what the enemy is doing being BIASED ? Well, so far, both Kasich and O'Reilly have denounced the Swift Boats Veterans for Truth ad as outrageous and call for the Bush campaign to denounce it. It doesn't seem to matter to them whether the claims in the ad are true or not. Those two, and possibly others, seem to be toeing the kerry line pretty well.
