Your post is fascinating. I read a recent interview with Ms. Nussbaum in which she said that after years of therapy, she's come to the conclusion that she was a very good mother.
I have never understood why anyone puts up with one bit of domestic violence, and I have no patience for people who refuse to remove themselves from untenable situations.
