Steinberg has never stopped practicing the law (other lawyers have signed off on his briefs since he was disbarred).
He is, by all accounts, a very "good" lawyer by the standards of that evil industry.
I think so, too. They've probably got a plan in action as we speak.

I guess I thought disbarred meant no more practice. Sheesh, they're slimy.

Sad LOL. All too true! Maybe Jacko can hire him. They deserve each other, but no victim deserves them.
Regardless that 'Hedda Nussbaum' was obviously a 'victim' of abuse, how dare she not also take responsibility for the death of the child. How dare she sit at a desk and go around giving talks while being paid by taxpayers dollars. She is a leach.
Sorry if this sounds hard hearted but I have the right to make such a statement and it isn't because I am a woman but was a 'victim' of spousal abuse during my first marriage, 45 years ago, which by the way was a during the time that you stuck with the evil ba$tard because divorce was not something that was common.
Fortunately I had the good sense to leave and take our 18 month old daughter with me. I shudder at times to think of what he may have done to her if I had stayed.
Evil has many faces.
It underlines an incident as horrendous as this one is when those in similar realtime experiences speak up. Thanks for sharing.
What do "certain People" have against Hedda that has nothing to do with her child etc. Can you be more specific?
Your post is fascinating. I read a recent interview with Ms. Nussbaum in which she said that after years of therapy, she's come to the conclusion that she was a very good mother.
I have never understood why anyone puts up with one bit of domestic violence, and I have no patience for people who refuse to remove themselves from untenable situations.
I thought you had to admit guilt and be remorseful before they let you out of jail.
Yes, that is exactly how Nussbaum feels.
In my personal sit-down discussion with her (3 summers ago), she was playing the role of professional victim and expert. I was polite, but felt spiritually unclean after an hour of talking to this amoral lunatic.
She was as guilty as Steinberg of neglect, but never spent a day in jail where she obviously belonged.
Absolutely no. You just do the time.
If you want early release or parole however, you often do have to feign guilt. In Steinberg's case, I suspect he used his lawyer industry connections, since he has absolutely no guilt.
Nussbaum also has no remorse.
Liz, she's doing a good thing. If she didn't do it, somebody else would.
That's what any decent woman would do --- protect her child. Any mother that allows her child to be injured just so she can have a bed-partner is guilty of abuse and murder if it comes to that.
A mother here with 4 kids --- all different fathers let her live-in boyfriend abuse the kids (none were his) --- one night she was going out, leaving him to babysit, the kids pleaded with her not to leave because the bf would hurt them when she was gone, she left and he killed the 18 month old by stomping him to death --- in front of the 4 year old. She claims she was a wonderful mother and really loved her kids. I have no compassion for women who allow men to kill kids.
Also, I'd like to know how Joel Steinberg got out of prison without expressing remorse and admitting his crime. I thought that was always a condition of parole.
How could two such awful human beings stumble upon such a beautiful little girl? I hope they rot in hell for all eternity.
Have faith in the Karma that is heading this man's way.
He is a lawyer. Hence, he was above the law. He "adopted" her illegally.
That's the only ray of hope for this little girl's tragedy.
Horrendous .........she is just as guilty as the killer and should be tried under the same laws.
Feigning guilt to get out? That's easy for Steincrumb....he feigned innocence to get in.
